PAST MY DOOR

The mountain road

winds its way

past my door

and through the hills

around corners

where I can't see

but I could follow,

but I'm happy where I am.

The call of the road

was once a pull,

but now I have my little house

and there I'm nice and snug,

so I'll hunker down

and wave at those

who pass my door

because they still need to roam.
